Offering Online instruction for our students is the best way we can dedicate our professionals to WORK WITH YOU IN PERSON in the Vehicle. Our goal is to make you the Safest, most Knowledgeable, Lawful, Skilled, Defensive driver on Texas roadways!
We want to teach you VEHICLE SKILLS. We charge $70 per hour of training, including pick up and drop off, with our Professional TDLR licensed Instructor, vehicle, fuel, and insurance.
We are instructing in all the successful skills required of the TEXAS Department of Public Safety Behind the Wheel Skills Test.

If you are ready to being your driving instruction with the Drive Trainers, please:
1. Start by filling out this CONTRACT form ( LINK ), then....
2. Email your request for drive times to DriveTrainersLBB@gmail.com, and include pictures of your Learner's License, front and back, to proceed.
If you have not yet earned your learners permit to practice on Texas roadways, you will need to start with the appropriate course for your age here - LINK.
If you are an ADULT, over the age of 17, you will complete your required Texas 6 hour course online AND your IMPACT TEXAS DRIVERS course online ( LINK ) before proceeding to the DPS with your 2 completion certificates to get your Instruction License issued (Restricted license with a code B). Please consult this page for all the documents needed to take with you to get that license issued: DPS processing requirements. Once your Instruction License is issued to you, the Drive Trainer needs your request for contracting and scheduling by email to DriveTrainersLBB@gmail.com.
If you are a TEEN, at least the age of 14 but under 18, you will complete your 32 hour course online up through the first 6 hours or Module 2. Then take your beginning certificate of training with many other documents to your DPS office appointment to have your Learner's License ("Permit" for Instruction) in Texas issued. Once your Instruction License is issued to you, the Drive Trainer needs your request for contracting and scheduling by email to DriveTrainersLBB@gmail.com.
**WHEN SIGNING UP FOR THE TEEN PARENT TAUGHT COURSE, PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS IF OUR DRIVE TRAINER WILL BE DOING ALL OF 7 YOUR BEHIND THE WHEEL LESSONS:
Step 1: Sign up for a 32 hour course online to begin training in Texas, OR email us to purchase our full course, including a link to get started with our online course (DriveTrainersLBB@gmail.com).
[Purchasing all at once: Full online course, 7 drives with Pick up and Drop off in Lubbock, Roadway TEST = $500 total at time of registration]
Step 2A: Pay for and Purchase a Download of the PTDE (Parent Taught Driver Ed) packet of instruction for Texas from TDLR. Keep the online Receipt number handy.....
Step 2B: Designate our Drive Trainer, Ms Newlin (please email for full name and TX Dr License info you will need) to be your Behind the Wheel Instructor online from the TDLR website ( LINK ) and Print the form received as your instructor of record for the DPS!
Step 3: Take your required documents to the DPS to have a Teen Learner's License issued for the student to continue training in a vehicle on Texas roadways.
Step 4A: Send your issued Learner's License pictures (front and back) to our email (DriveTrainersLbb@gmail.com) to request scheduling and payment options AND
Step 4B: Complete this Registration Form Agreement for our records AND
Step 4C: Schedule your first lessons around our other students on our Scheduling Calendar.
Step 5: Pay the Drive Trainers for your scheduled lessons immediately to save your chosen spots.
Holds will not be made.
Here is the amount of hours of instruction we advise:
- Just the basics to pass the road skills exam = 3 to 4 hours
- The full course with a practice scored test = 7 hours
- The best developed driver, having the last 3 hrs in your own vehicle = 10 + hours
Step 6: Continue Online Coursework as required to the full end of the course modules (12).
Step 7: Complete 30 Home Practice hours behind the wheel with your parent/guardian and fill out TDLR Practice log as required for teens during your driving lessons and your online work continuance.
Step 8: Complete 6 months of required time holding a Texas Teen Learner's License in training.
Step 9: Complete Impact Texas Driver course as required by age.
Step 10: Collect and Submit all Driver Licensing Course Completion documents and Application Identity items to the Third Party Skills Text Examiner by email: C0212TPST@gmail.com.
**Use the same schedule link to select your appointment for a Roadway Test time. The cost is discounted to $50 for a test of a student who has already trained with the Drive Trainers.
Step 11: Submit your payment for your test appointment with Cindi Newlin, Third Party Skills Test provider
Step 12: Receive a Confirmation email of your Roadway Skills test appointment and submitted documents with payment from Cindi after documents have all been received and evaluated at C0212TPST@gmail.com.
FINAL STEP: Schedule your DPS office appointment to get your permanent Driver License created with a new picture.
